The 2013 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru les Referts has more fruit concentration than the La Garenne at this stage with touches of dried mango and pineapple joining the chorus line. This is a more outgoing bouquet at this primal stage. The palate is fresh and keen on the entry, quite steely in the mouth, with a terse, pointed, angular finish that should smooth out by the time of bottling. Moderate length in the mouth, this is a fine les Referts, but it needs to develop that extra level of complexity.
