Another compelling effort from Michael Keenan is the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot. The most backward and perhaps longest-lived of these impressive wines, it boasts an opaque ruby/purple color along with full body, excellent texture, good acidity and minerality as well as fabulous fruit concentration and depth. Accessible now, it will be even better with another 2-3 years of cellaring and should last through 2035+. Michael Keenan has done an incredible job over the last decade, and his 2001s admirably demonstrate the fabulous potential of his wines. This is one source of Bordeaux varietals where the Cabernet Franc and Merlot are well worth a special effort to find.Tel. (707) 963-9177; Fax (707) 963-8209
