A blend of 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Petit Verdot, the Fossacolle 2020 Riesci reveals inky concentration and rich flavors of deep black fruit, cedar, smoke and exotic spice. This wine offers a radically different taste profile (and a welcome alternative) for Montalcino (a land where Sangiovese reigns supreme) and might be just the option for game meats or a T-bone steak. There are evident oak tannins woven into very thick and dense fruit fiber. I tasted bottle number 2 of 3,384 bottles made.
