The 2011 Chardonnay Estate was aged in stainless steel (70%) and eight months in French oak (30%). Crisp and elegant with notions of buttered citrus and tangerine oil, this pure, medium-bodied, well-made Chardonnay is best drunk over the next year.
The 2010 and 2011 red wines I tasted from Alexander Valley Vineyards, although reasonably priced, were very herbal and lacking concentration.
