The 1997 Non Plus Ultra Proprietary Red Wine reveals a saturated ruby/purple color in addition to a sweet nose of toasty vanillin (from new oak barrels) intertwined with ripe black currants and cherry liqueur. The wine is medium to full-bodied, gorgeously pure and ripe, with a sweet, deep mid-palate as well as moderate amounts of soft tannin in the long (30+ seconds) finish.
