Light gold. Smoky, musky, leesy aromas, with suggestions of bitter orange, Meyer lemon, hazelnut and brioche; quite removed from the Australian chardonnay stereotype. Firmly mineral, with flavors of orange, sweet butter, white cherry and fennel. A compelling, structured wine with good length.

This Chard’s charms are its delicate feel and slim body. Peach flavors take a backseat to a dry, stony feel. Good pre-dinner selection, with a modest 12.7% alcohol. 3,500 cases produced. Imported by The Ravensvale Group. ——D.T.(4/1/2006)—— 87
