The entry-level Albari?o is the 2014 Abadía de San Campio, from their cooler and higher-altitude vineyards in Goián on slate soils that. It is cold-fermented in stainless steel after a cold soak and bottled early to preserve freshness. This is always approachable and aromatic, classical Rosal white, with some balsamic aromas (bay leaf?) and notes of herbs. The palate is quite gentle and round, with refreshing acidity that is not yet fully integrated and will benefit from food. Bottled at 12.5% alcohol with some 3.5 grams of sugar. 300,000 bottles.
