Pietradolce’s 2011 Etna Bianco is gorgeous in the way it captures the essence of Etna. Yellow stone fruits, flowers, mint and spices are all woven together in a gracious wine that expresses the energy of the Etna. Hints of licorice and mint reappear on the finish, adding further complexity. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2016.
I was deeply impressed with the wines I tasted from Pietradolce this year. This small estate on the northern side of the Etna was founded less than ten years ago, but in that short time the wines have come a long way.
