The 2006 Langhe Bianco is a Riesling made from Alsatian clones. This rich, intense wine reveals highly attractive honeyed fruit layered with suggestions of spices, minerals and petrol. I often find the Langhe Bianco needs some time in the glass or a decanter before it opens up and reveals the breadth of its expansive personality. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2011.
Aldo Vajra is one of the most underappreciated producers in Piedmont, but his wines are among the most consistently outstanding I taste each year.
