The 2002 Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes had just finished its malolactic fermentation when I visited the estate in late November, 2003. Sporting a nose reminiscent of green apple jam, it is rich, supple, and medium-bodied. Sweet pears and apples are found throughout its expressive, plush flavor profile. Fat yet elegant, it is a candidate for drinking between 2005 and 2013.
