Another effort that could use another year or two to come together, the 2011 Pinot Noir Melville Vineyard has classic Pinot Noir flair with its strawberry and crushed berry fruit, spice and earth-driven aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied, elegant and focused, without quite the integration of the other efforts, it should evolve nicely through 2019. Drink 2014-2019.
This is a great lineup by Chad Melville. Neutral oak, no SO2 until racking, varying degrees of whole cluster, native yeasts and a very cold cellar are the name of the game here and these are have individual, unique profiles. They also remain reasonably priced given the quality. These are all impressive wines and well worth checking out!
