Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Corton Vergennes Grand Cru from Chanson has a forward and disconcertingly mature nose that seems eight to ten-years-old rather than just two or three. The palate just seems to be going nowhere, rather flat and enervated, static and bereft of that crucial element of tension. This is a bit of a disappointment following its performance just after bottling and on this showing, I would drink this sooner rather than later.
