The 1993 Charmes-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru has aged very gracefully and delivers brilliant drinking today. Wafting from the glass with a captivating bouquet that's more floral than it is fruity, it evokes damask roses, peonies and violets, along with delicate scents of red berries. Medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, it's weightless and ethereal, with melting tannins and a long, expansive, aromatic finish. From my cellar, this still has two decades ahead of it.
