The 2006 Chassagne Montrachet la Maltroie has a straightforward, mature bouquet with scents of grilled walnut, smoke and orange rind. It displays good vigour if not quite top-notch delineation. The palate is well balanced with a lightly honeyed, praline-tinged entry, subtle notes of almond in the background and orange cordial on the front palate. This will not be improving any further so enjoy this Chassagne now.
