Petrolo made some of Tuscany’s best wines in the 2002 vintage, and the quality testifies to the serious purposes and unflagging commitment of Lucia Sanjust and son Luca Sanjust. The 2002 Torrione, a Sangiovese-Merlot blend, just misses excellence, but the warm nose of roasted fruit and herbs, the fine density, and the sizeable volume for a rainy year cannot fail to impress.
