This wine leaves absolutely no doubt that it was born in a very hot vintage. The 2017 Barbera d'Alba is packed tight with ripe and jammy fruit tones. You get cooked cherries and blackberry confit. This Barbera offers broad intensity and dark color saturation. It's almost too much of a good thing. The mouthfeel is mid-weight, and it ends with a note of sour fruit. Some 10,000 bottles were made.
