The estate’s 2003 Carignano del Sulcis Riserva Terre Rare comes across as somewhat less polished. It features a wilder, more gamey set of aromas and flavors that dominate the sweet red fruit. A weightless, silky-textured red, it should drink beautifully over the next seven to eight years. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2015.Sella e Mosca’s history goes back all the way to the 19th century. Even though the estate produces a large quantity of wine, quality is quite high. These entry-level wines offer a lot of varietal character, and best of all, they won’t break the bank.Importer: Palm Bay International, Boca Raton, FL; tel. (561) 362-9642
