The 1999 Pinot Noir Weir Vineyard's medium ruby color is followed by tart acidity that compresses the wine's texture, but clean, attractive raspberry and cherry fruit as well as hints of root beer, oak, and earth. While it is too austere for my taste, I respect the winery's intentions. It is a 350-case cuvee produced from 12-year old vines.
