The 1952 Vintage Port is part of our vertical this issue. Surprisingly rich and luscious, this big Porto has a touch of smoke on the finish that made me think it was showing a bit of age, but it is otherwise stunning. In structure, it is still tight and powerful, tense on the finish and just packed with fruit and flavor. My only quibble here was that slight smokey nuance on the finish. That tended to get better with air. Some wake-up time helps even older wines. This should still hold fairly well, but this is a good time to dive in, no matter how long it theoretically lasts.
