The 2007 Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso Il Bugiardo offers up gorgeous scents of dark cherries, mocha, chocolate and spices. This shows excellent richness and depth while avoiding heaviness. The French oak appears just a touch overly prominent, but the purity of fruit is nevertheless quite striking. It is a totally delicious Valpolicella. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015.
These are the first wines I have tasted from Buglioni, a small property located in San Pietro in Cariano, in the historic Valpolicella zone.
