The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon (84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 4% Merlot, 2% Malbec, and 2% Cabernet Franc) reveals a tight nose offering loamy soil scents intermixed with cassis, smoke, and underbrush. It is full-bodied, with sweet tannin, low acidity, and excellent extract as well as ripeness. This wine is more elegant than the Lot 1, but has less character and personality.
