The amiable Pierre Morey, internationally known for the delicious whites he produces at this estate, at his negociant house (Morey-Blanc) and at the Domaine Leflaive (where he works hand-in-hand with Anne-Claude Leflaive), also produces small quantities of a delicious Pommard Les Grands Epenots. The 1995 is medium ruby-colored and offers sweet aromas of wild blackberries and blueberries as well as a medium bodied, silky-textured black cherry-filled flavor profile. Its long finish ends on present but ripe and soft tannins. Drink between 1998-2004
Note: As this article went to press, Jean-Marc Morey's US importer had not purchased this wine for the American market the price was not available.
As always, ratings with a score in parentheses indicate the wine was tasted from cask, not bottle.
