The 2004 Pinot Noir “Marjorie” is the original vineyard on the property when Paul Gerrie purchased it in 1991. It is also the only vineyard on the estate planted on its own roots (a risk because phylloxera has made its way into the Willamette Valley). It tastes advanced with a slightly aged appearance and a well-developed bottle bouquet. There is an expansive Asian spice, allspice, and clove nose as well as fragrant black cherry and blueberry fruit. It has a velvety texture, rich flavors, and outstanding balance. It can be enjoyed now and will continue to please through 2020.
