The 2005 Flor de Grealo is made up of 40% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 30% Syrah aged for 12 months in French oak. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it exhibits a nose of wood smoke, mineral, fresh herbs, black currant, and blackberry. Structured on the palate, it has the requisite fruit for balance but will require another 3-4 years of bottle age to fully unwind. It should be in its prime from 2014 to 2020, perhaps longer.
