The 2007 Barrel Select Syrah (100%) ups the ante in aromatic complexity and richness on the palate. It was aged for 26 months in new, predominantly French oak providing the wine with a silky texture and suave personality. This full-throttle Syrah will offer prime drinking through 2023 if not longer. Annette Bergevin and Amber Lane continue to turn out excellent wines at very fair prices from their Walla Walla-based winery. The current releases, particularly the Syrah cuvees, appear to be their best wines to date. The Calico wines are always terrific values and the new releases are no exception.Tel.
