The 2003 Cabernet/Shiraz (60% of the former and 40% of the latter) exhibits plum, earth, and weedy black currant fruit along with soft tannin, and a nicely-structured, smooth finish. It should drink well for several years. There are enormous quantities of these popular low-end wines, but they often get abused by distributors and retailers and hence are damaged by heat. However, when tasted under pristine conditions, they represent remarkable values. The newest releases are better than any previous efforts, and demonstrate the commitment of Barossa’s Yalumba Wine Company to provide consumers with a remarkable glass of wine for a lowly price. All of these fresh, lively reds and whites reveal correct varietal characteristics, and are finished with screw caps.Importer: Negociants, USA, Napa CA; tel. (707) 259-0993
