The 1991 Clos de Vougeot offers a medium ruby color, and a sweet nose of raspberries and currants. Medium-bodied, elegant rather than powerful and concentrated, it is destined to be drunk in its first 7-8 years of life. For a grand cru, it appears less complex and complete than the Nuits St.-Georges-Les Meurgers, Vosne-Romanee-Les Brulees, and Vosne-Romanee-Cros Parantoux. Importer: Martine's Wines, San Rafael, CA.
NOTES ON THE 1992s FROM BARREL: Meo's 1992s are among the most successful wines made in the Cote de Nuits in that vintage. They are even softer than the 1991s, with excellent concentration for the vintage.
