The 2012 Wrongo Dongo is 100% Mourvedre from Jumilla, an area that Jorge Ordonez was the first to exploit and bring to the attention of American wine consumers. It exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as loads of blackberry and black cherry fruit, sweet tannin, and a naked, in-your-face, flavorful, hedonistic style. No oak is used in this effusive, delicious wine’s upbringing. Enjoy it over the next 2-3 years.
Bodegas Volver, a joint venture between importer Jorge Ordonez and Rafael Canizares, produces wines from huge holdings of 252 acres in La Mancha, 457 acres in Alicante and 125 acres in Jumilla. Some of the wines are fashioned from organic grapes, which is made clear on the label.
