The 1989 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru has always been a great wine, one reaffirmed here. The nose is fully mature but still much more complex than the Corton-Charlemagne ’91 tasted alongside, displaying fine mineralite and crispness. The palate is powerful but focused with superb sense of place and terroir, adorned with a lively, totally convincing finish that leaves you reaching the glass for another delicious sip. This has quality sewn into its sleeves. Drink now-2025+. Tasted November 2013.
