A wine that needs to be mentioned is the Cotes du Rhone Rubis. The wine is a blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah from the same grower who produced the Chateauneuf du Pape Rubis. Produced just outside the Chateauneuf du Pape appellation, it smells like an open-air Provence marketplace, offering up huge aromas of pepper, spice box, cedar, fruit cake, dried herbs, scorched rocks, and copious amounts of black cherries. This is a noteworthy effort that sells for a song.A Patrick Lesec Selection, various American importers, including Stacole Fine Wines, Boca Raton, FL; tel.
