The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon is purple-colored with a reticent nose of oak, spice box, tobacco, and black currants. Slightly compacted on the palate, it exhibits spicy flavors, decent depth, and a lingering finish. Drink it over the next 5-7 years. The family owned Schild Estate dates back to the early 1950s. Their vineyard holdings now encompass 380 acres. The first Schild Estate wines were produced in 1998.Importer: Deborah Gray, The Australian Wine Connection, Carlsbad, CA; www.schildestate.com.au; Also tasted: 2005 Merlot (84), 2005 Sparkling Shiraz (90)
