The 1993 Chardonnay exhibits plenty of oak and body, as well as good depth. It just misses meriting a higher score because the wood inhibits some of the nuances in the wine's aromatic profile. It is a solid, muscular Chardonnay that comes across as more pleasing in the mouth, largely because of its oak-dominated nose. Drink it over the next 8-12 months.
