The 2004 Chateauneuf du Pape is also light, with hints of faint and washed-out raspberries and cherries intermixed with herbs, pepper, and some seaweed. It is medium-bodied but quickly falls off on the palate. What gives?This was one of my favorite estates in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and they have certainly made some fine wines in the 1990s, but both of these vintages were decidedly unimpressive.No known American importer.
