The 2009 The Offering is juicy, racy and enticing. Sweet cherries, flowers and licorice are some of the many notes that are woven together in this classy, refined red. Silky tannins frame a long, pure finish punctuated by expressive floral notes that add lift. The blend is 42% Grenache, 31% Syrah, 25% Mourvedre and 2% Viognier, and it is the Grenache that seems to speak most loudly in defining the wine’s personality. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017.
