The 2008 GRANDE RESERVA (VERTICE) is an equal blend of Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz, with 15% Touriga Nacional added in, aged in barrel for 16 months. A bit oak tinged on opening, with perhaps a touch of nail polish on the nose lurking underneath, this is rather elegant in mid-palate depth and well constructed wine, with a nice backbone, good balance and the potential to integrate its parts perfectly. After a couple of hours of aeration, it was showing beautifully, with a graceful feel and a gripping finish. There were 11,000 bottles produced, plus some large format bottles.
