Here's a wine that fits a very specific and important target: it is exactly the bottle you want when seated in front of your favorite home cooked meal with your favorite family and friends. The 2016 Rosso di Montalcino Ignaccio is all good cheer, accessibility and informality. It pours from the bottle with a bright ruby gleam and delicate aromas of wild berry, blue flower and light dustings of sweet spice. There is a note of freshly milled white pepper that I only see in cool climate Sangiovese or other wild Italian indigenous grapes. Some 6,670 bottles were made.
