The estate’s 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva blossoms on the palate with an array of dark cherries, leather, licorice, earthiness and oak. Most of the wine’s appeal is upfront as the intensity of the fruit tapers off on the mid-palate. This, too, seems best suited to near-term enjoyment. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2019.
