A limited production, 200-case cuvee, the 2000 Clos d'Agon, a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 20% Syrah is fashioned by the well-known owner/winemaker of Pingus, Peter Sisseck. Aged 16 months in French barrels before being bottled unfiltered, it exhibits a dense opaque ruby/purple color as well as a chocolatey nose revealing hints of espresso, black currants, and earth. Full-bodied, ripe, and long, with no hard edges, it will drink well for 7-8 years. Kudos to winemaker Peter Sisseck.
