The 2014 Pommard 1er Cru les Grands Epenots has a rather extravagant bouquet, especially for a Pommard, with showy red cherries, raspberry coulis and orange sorbet scents that are nicely defined. This is quite Volnay in style. The palate is clean and fresh, gently gripping the mouth, quite tensile and linear but with appreciable depth on the raspberry, strawberry and sage finish. There is something very "correct" about this Grands Epenots. Very fine.
