This is a local favorite that I often see poured next to some sort of pasta dish at my go-to, low-key trattorie and pizzerie in Alba, Piedmont. The Fontanafredda 2019 Barbera d'Alba Raimonda delivers dark blackberry and tart plum. There is a good amount of acidity to keep it all fresh, and the wine proceeds over the palate with an easy and informal personality. There were about 144,000 bottles made.
