Aromatically, the 2000 Pinot Gris Beblenheim displays smoked peaches. Rich, layered, and opulent, this medium-bodied wine is plump, concentrated, and velvety-textured. Its yellow fruit-flavored personality is expressive and reveals an extensive finish. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2013. The youthful Jean-Christophe Bott, this winery's winemaker and director, believes 2000 "is not an exceptional vintage, yet is outstanding. The last extraordinary year we had was 1990.
