The 2005 Morellino di Scansano Rovente possesses excellent length and balance, with attractive dark cherries, tar, licorice and toasted oak. Although the wine offers notable density, there isn’t quite enough stuffing to perfectly meld with the oak. Still, this is a very pretty Morellino that continued to improve with time in the glass.
