The 2012 Pinot Noir Cahill Lane is an equal part blend of clones 115, 114 and the Rochioli selection that Tom Rochioli gave Steve Hansel. There are 957 cases of this wine, which spent time in 60% new French oak. A dark plum/ruby/purple color is accompanied by notes of black cherries and black raspberries intermixed with baking spices, plums, underbrush and forest floor. A sweet entry is followed by a medium to full-bodied wine with structural tannin in the finish. This 2012 Pinot will be even better with six more months of bottle age, and should evolve for 8-10 years.
