The 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeots (Rouge), which is raised in 40% new oak, has bright black cherry and strawberry puree scents on the nose that indicates more vigor than the Clos Saint Jean (Rouge) at the moment. The palate is structured in the mouth with quite firm tannins, a citric line of acidity and satisfying substance and persistence on the minerally finish. Very fine.
