Made from a parcel of 60-year old vines of Pinot Auxerrois situated next to one of Alsace's most famous grand crus, the Hengst vineyard, this light, straw-colored wine exhibits a perfumed bouquet offering scents of ripe oranges, honey, and flowers. Rich and medium-bodied with enough acidity for balance, and gobs of fruit, the wine finishes with a heady lustiness. Although unlikely to age given its roundness, it is delicious for drinking over the next year. Importer: Weygandt-Metzler, Unionville, PA.
