The 2016 Chassagne Montrachet Village was reduced by around 50% in this vintage due to frost. Nevertheless, it sports an attractive bouquet full of orange zest, tangerine and white peach aromas that shrug off the trauma of the growing season with some aplomb. The palate is crisp and fresh, the 25% new oak perhaps just a little vocal toward the finish, but that will be subsumed with, say, 24 months in bottle. Very fine.
