The 2008 Barbera d’Alba Superiore Funtani is a gorgeous, mineral-laced wine graced with crushed red raspberries, flowers, subtle spices and new leather. In 2008 the Funtani is remarkably elegant and poised, with terrific focus and fabulous overall balance. The subtle, nuanced finish leaves a lasting impression. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2018. Cordero di Montezemolo is one of the few estates where the 2006s are more interesting than the 2007s, with the exception of the entry-level Barolo Monfalleto.
