Bottled just a few days before I tasted this sample, the 2018 Dolcetto d'Alba was a bit closed, aromatically, when I reviewed it. This wine will undoubtedly take on more volume and girth over the next few months it stays in the bottle. In fact, it is probably best consumed after the summer season when those fall temperature start to get crisp and cool. The wine is made with a small percentage of whole cluster fruit that adds to the primary freshness of this easy-drinking red.
