This excellent winery has fashioned a beautiful 2003 Chardonnay Tinaquaic Vineyard, which brings to mind some of the excellent Chalone vintages of the late seventies and early eighties. A citrus and orange-scented, moderately intense, restrained nose with a striking minerality is followed by a medium to full-bodied Chardonnay offering good acidity, a layered mouthfeel, subtle notes of wood, and an expansive, long finish. Drink it over the next several years.
