The 2008 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Rasteau Vieilles Vignes (made from yields of 15 hectoliters per hectare) exhibits chocolaty, black cherry, and black currant notes intertwined with hints of scorched earth and asphalt. This big, full-bodied, bruising, slightly rustic wine should drink well for 7-8 years.
